Podiatry is a discipline highly specialised in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle, and the pathologies of its associated structures in the lower limb.
Podiatrist received 3 or 4 years of undergraduate theoretical and clinical training, which are competent to examine, diagnose and prescribe within the list of podiatry formulary to provide a comprehensive one-stop service to specific group of patient with high risk foot complications, such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, immunocompromised, tumor, peripheral vascular disease, geriatric and paediatric foot problems and sport associated foot problems, etc. We deliver comprehensive and high-quality podiatry service in managing foot disorders, such as acute wound care, ingrowing toenails, foot pain, in order to reduce complications and maintain the integrity of foot and improve individual’s independent ambulation ability. In recent years, we have used telecare to shorten the distance between us and the patients and caregivers and to provide more effective foot health education, so that they can co-operate with daily foot care, improve the treatment effect and compliance and be alert to problems more earlier.
