The Accident and Emergency Department (AED) of United Christian Hospital (UCH) was established in 1973. It is one of the large scale AED in Hospital Authority (HA) and has a daily attendance of about 400 cases. It provides 24-hour emergency medicine service and operates an Emergency Medicine Ward (EMW) with 20 beds. The service was provided by a professional workforce including about 40 doctors, 100 nurses, and other supporting staffs.

UCH AED is currently an accredited training centre on emergency medicine and clinical toxicology of the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine.
