United Christian Hospital Intensive Care Unit started to function as an independent clinical department since 1995. Over the years, we are committed to providing the best critical care service to the Kowloon East population. Our department has 22 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds serving over 1000 patients per year with service expansion in progress. We serve not only as an independent clinical department to deliver a high quality multidisciplinary care to our patients, but also function as a clinical hub to collaborate with different professional teams to endeavor patients and their families a smooth journey under our care.

To cope with the increasing aging population, we will enhance our service to support the oncology, acute cardiovascular and neurovascular patients in further development. Intensive care is a highly sophisticated and challenging specialty which depends on a High Reliability Organization Team to deliver a safe and timely care to our patients. For better utilisation of human resources to focus on better patient care, we will transform towards a "SMART ICU" with increasing application and integration of automation and artificial intelligence in our clinical settings.
